So your ability to honestly reflect and evaluate delegation will crush this time management issue quickly. And will allow others the room and opportunity to truly develop. Which will build a much stronger, more passionate, and more engaged team!
But, there is one more thing you need to cultivate as a leader…
The ability to say “NO!”
I know it can be hard to do, I mean you want to be a great business partner… to be more collaborative… to play a bigger role in achieving company objectives.
And, truth be told, some activities feel like they go faster or smoother when you do them yourself…
But that is a mindset to avoid and challenge.
Because that thinking comes with a hidden cost…
Which may end up being the promotion, raise, or acknowledgment.
So, it is as imperative to consider your time as it is to consider your team…
But even for the best leaders, this can be hard to do. No matter how amazing your team is, it just feels like “letting go” or “handing over control” of a project.
